The Cleveland Guardians and the Toronto Blue Jays were tied at 4-4 when the game reached the bottom of the tenth inning at Progressive Field on Wednesday.
Jose Ramirez, Cleveland’s best hitter, came to the plate with the winning run at third base.
As he has done so many times over the years, he delivered a game-winning single against Mason Fluharty with the bases loaded, giving the Guards their 40th win of the season.
After the game, J-Ram sent an important message to his teammates and fans.
“You are going to have ups and downs. The important thing is to have a good attitude and keep doing your best every day,” he said, per the Guardians’ official X account.

The 2025 Guards have had good and bad days.
According to Ramirez, every player needs to have a short memory, forgetting yesterday’s struggles and focusing on today, as baseball always gives everyone a chance for redemption.
The game is full of second chances, and as long as every player on the roster has the right mindset, they will have the opportunity to make it to the postseason again.
Cleveland is a flawed yet talented team that could significantly improve with a few moves.
Ramirez knows this and wants to keep everybody focused.
That’s what a leader does: he wants the right attitude from his teammates to help him take the Guardians to the promised land.
