The Cleveland Guardians have a tough situation on their hands right now.
They aren’t as good as they were last season, and they have struggled to find consistency in any aspect of the game.
That’s why some fans believe that the organization needs to do right by Jose Ramirez and trade him.
With that in mind, analyst Ken Carman sounded off, saying there is no logic behind that sentiment and that the Guardians don’t have any reason to do so.
“I know it’s the internet, so you can find any opinion, but there’s some ‘trade Jose because he deserves better’ sentiment out there. A Jose trade would be Luka [Doncic]-esque. No. The franchise can’t. Not at all,” Carman wrote on X. “And Jose’s situation isn’t anywhere near [Mike] Trout’s with the [Los Angeles] Angels. Ridiculous comparison.”

Ramirez is in the midst of an MVP-caliber season, but it’s easy to understand why some fans might feel frustrated with the lack of support he’s gotten.
Then again, perhaps it would be better to push the Guardians to make some moves to help him get back to the postseason.
As disappointing as the Guardians have been, it’s not like they’re bottoming out or far behind in contention.
They will get ace Shane Bieber back at some point, and they may only need a couple of pieces to bolster their struggling offense.
The Guardians have never been the kind of team that goes all-in at the trade deadline, knowing that a small-market team needs to rely on its farm system to be competitive.
But whenever a team has a generational player like Ramirez, it should act as if the championship window is wide open.
If the Guardians truly want to do right by him, they need to get him some help, not send him somewhere else.
