The Cleveland Guardians need to do something right now.
They haven’t found much momentum over the past couple of weeks, and just when it seemed like they were ready to peak and make a run at the division, they started playing their worst baseball of the season.
“Since [the] Guardians won the first 3 of a 4-game series at Detroit May 22-24, they are 6-13, have scored less than 4 runs in a game 11 times and been shut out 4 times,” Daryl Ruiter wrote on X.

One of those shutouts came in a 6-0 loss to the Seattle Mariners in the recent series finale.
Luis L. Ortiz struggled with his command, and a five-run second inning, which included a grand slam by J.P. Crawford, ultimately dug Cleveland into a hole too big to crawl back from.
To make things even worse, Jose Ramirez’s career-best on-base streak was snapped at 39 games.
The Guardians failed to get a runner to second base, and it was the second time this season they didn’t have a single at-bat with a runner in scoring position.
The offensive woes are becoming too evident, and now that they’re sitting at .500, they will have to make some tough decisions and determine whether they will be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline.
